Traditional BBQ Rub

My husband loves ribs, and I just wanted a simple, easy rub made with spices that I normally have on hand. One of our local grocery stores had a great sale on pork ribs, so I scooped up two to try two different recipes.

I have made this rub before, and it is my easy go to mix. I like that I can taste it ahead of time to see if I want to add a little more of something, you know how some days you just want more spice.

I found that covering the ribs with the rub, and then in foil and cooking them low and slow makes the finished product fall off the bone. And if you want that lovely sticky BBQ sauce, just put that on at the very end. I have made some BBQ sauce from scratch, but for this one, I just used a ready made one from the store.

When the ribs are done, or about 15 minutes before hand pull them out and slather one side with your favorite BBQ sauce and put it back in the oven at 350° for 3-5 minutes. When one side is done flip the ribs and baste the other side and put it back in the oven for 3-5 minutes. I like doing it a total of three times, but my husband likes a lot of sauce, so sometimes I will add a few more.
